Gliding is one of the most exciting air sports around. A sailplane flies in the same thermal currents used by birds and can cover great distances without the need for an engine. The only thing that is necessary is the skill and good judgment of the soaring pilot, who will have to properly assess and take advantage of the available meteorological conditions.
Gliding in Greece offers a vast array of possibilities. Apart from very strong thermaling conditions and favourable weather, the mountainous topography of the country offers great opportunities for ridge soaring and for exciting cross-country flights across areas of stunning natural beauty.
